About the Author

Kate Newton is a Massachusetts native who transplanted in Southern California after graduating college with a degree in dance. She spent many wonderful years dancing professionally and teaching, then pivoted to the travel industry for a short time, before landing a VIP gig at the Happiest Place on Earth. Now she writes children’s books and hangs out with her son, husband, and fluffy Newfoundland dog, Fred.

 

“Little Levi and the Bedtime Scaries” is about a kind, young monster who is terrified of bedtime, because he believes there is a ferocious kid under his bed! However will he sleep?! The story takes you through his wacky night as he makes many attempts to overcome his fears and fall asleep.

Bedtime is very scary for little monster, Levi Athan, because he is certain there is a ferocious kid under his bed! In this story we follow along as Levi makes many attempts, and failures, to overcome his fear of kids and get a good night sleep. During this wild and wacky night he and his stuffed animal, Scrunch, get startled and goofed many times. Luckily, he has the support of his loving Momster who helps him along the way. Eventually, after accepting some good advice, he is able to learn how to calm his mind and get through this trying and terrifying night by taking a few deep breaths.

About the Illustrator

Román Díaz was born in Mexico. Since he was a child, he always wanted to draw like adults, now that he is an adult, he likes to draw like children. He's created illustrations for books, video games, and many other projects. He likes to eat colorful fruits and vegetables and admires animals in documentaries because it seems they have superpowers.
